Welcome...
"Lunch With C.S. Lewis"
Beginning August 25, St. Alban's Chapel will offer a free lunch for
undergraduate and graduate students every Wednesday (11:30 - 12:20). Now
in its fifth year, this weekly gathering attracts around 120 students each week.
Christian and non-Christian students from a wide variety of backgrounds attend.
Following a fantastic catered lunch served by members of the St. Alban's
congregation, Fr. Drew Rollins (Chaplain) or Dr. Edward Song (a member of the
LSU faculty in the Philosophy & Religion Department) present a short teaching on
'mere Christianity', a term coined by C.S. Lewis to describe those beliefs which
Christians through the ages have held in common. Students always
participate in a lively back and forth with Fr. Drew and Dr. Song.
In past years, the group has discussed The Great
Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, The Business of Heaven.
This semester, we will examine the subject of suffering, drawing on passages
from Lewis' A Grief Observed.

Sunday Evenings at St. Alban's Chapel
Every
Sunday evening during the academic year, St. Alban's Chapel holds a 6:00 service
of worship designed especially for the students of LSU. The music and
preaching in particular are prepared with college students in mind.
Following this weekly Holy Eucharist, everyone is invited to the Common Hall for
a dinner prepared by members of the St. Alban's Chapel congregation.
