Lenten Chapel Retreat

"Take On Me” — Two Days of Quiet, Community, and Renewal

March 27 - 28, 2026

Solomon Episcopal Conference Center

Step away from the noise of everyday life and come into the peaceful embrace of the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center — a place where tall trees, gentle stillness, and sacred space invite you to breathe again.

This year’s retreat carries a simple and powerful theme: “Take On Me.”

It’s a play on words, but also an invitation. In the season of Lent, God is calling gently to each of us: Take on Me… draw closer… rest in My presence… let Me meet you where you are.

Guided by Fr. Brandon, we’ll explore what it means to “take on” the life of God — to listen, reflect, and open ourselves anew to grace, renewal, and spiritual connection.

Whether you arrive right at the start or come early to settle in, you’ll be welcomed into the beauty of the forested grounds, the quiet of the lodge, and the peace that seems to live in the air itself.

Friday: Arrival, Rest, and a Warm Welcome

Your retreat begins with the freedom to arrive, check in, and ease into the weekend at your own pace. After settling into your room, you’ll have time to wander the wooded paths, sit with a cup of coffee in the lodge, or simply enjoy the gift of unhurried quiet.

As evening comes, we gather for shared meals and then enter the gentle prayer of Compline in the chapel — a peaceful way to close the day and begin turning our hearts toward God’s invitation: “Take on Me.”

Later, the community comes together for a warm first gathering filled with welcome, music, and connection. The night may end under the stars with a bonfire and conversation — a simple, joyful beginning to our Lenten journey.

Saturday: Worship, Reflection, and Sending Forth

Saturday invites us deeper. The day begins with Holy Communion in the chapel, grounding us in prayer and grace.

From there, through music, retreat sessions, and guided reflection, Fr. Brandon will lead us in exploring the heart of this theme: what it means to take on God’s presence more fully during Lent — not as a burden, but as a gift.

There is also space built in for rest and free time — time to sit outdoors, journal, walk among the trees, or simply be still in the sacred quiet of Solomon.

Even after checkout and lunch, you’re welcome to linger and enjoy the grounds a little longer, letting the retreat’s peace stay with you before returning home.

Come Away for a While

This weekend is not about doing more — it’s about making room.

  • Room for God’s presence.

  • Room for peace.

  • Room to hear the gentle invitation again: “Take on Me.”

We hope you’ll join us.
