Daily, we ask God to forgive us for our mistakes.

I have been at St.Alban’s for two years. I currrntly attend Recharge and Tiger bible study. I am also the Community Service chair on the Student Vestry.
“To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by following his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.” Danial 9:10
Devotional
Daniel gives a reflection of humility, grace, justice and righteousness. He is praying to our God on behalf of the people. He recognizes the Lord’s righteousness and how the people including himself have failed him through sin. From an outside perspective, Daniel’s faith and willingness to ask for forgiveness is like us as devoted followers. Daily, we ask the Lord to forgive us for our mistakes, grant us help and guidance when needed, and provide a light towards a life worth leading. Their exile to Babylon shows the repercussions of not putting trust and faith on unconditionally, not out of pure convenience for oneself. “To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by following his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.”
This speaks to me because even in hardship Daniel recognizes that the Lord has not abandoned him and will continue to provide for him and the people even though they were not committed to him. His word is law. It is alright to make a mistake and ask for forgiveness for what he will provide. However, as I stated before, being devoted to our Lord requires trust and is a moment not just during inconvenience.
