Who do I follow?

My name is Siena Gentry. I've been at St. Albans for about 6 months and I'm part of The Youth Vestry.
“The ox knows its owner,
and the donkey its master’s crib;
but Israel does not know,
my people do not understand.”
13: “though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be like snow;” Isaiah 3-4
Devotional
The first thing that stood out to me was how the comparison of the Ox and Donkey to ourselves and how they know who their leader is. Yet us as Christians are lost and do not know who our leader is. It makes me think about how it is so easy to be led astray by someone else or a false leader because we ourselves aren't sure who to follow. As a college student I find myself in a time of trying to find me and to do that I need a strong leader. It calls out the importance of finding the correct guide and to use their guidance to stick to God’s path. Which leads me into the section that stands out is ‘though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow.’
The contrast of white to scarlet/red made me think about Easter and Pentecost 2 important days in our faith that are associated with each color. Red being used in Pentecost is meant to be a representative of Fire and its transformative abilities. While white is purity and joy and that we are born anew, or Jesus’s resurrection. I like that red in this passage is our sins but it also leaves us room to find transformation to learn from our past sins and change to white or become new. It gives me hope that as I make mistakes that I always have room to change and find God.
